The Jewish Federation of Grand Rapids offers a wide variety of cultural, educational and social programming to the West Michigan Jewish community. From scholarly lectures during the annual Scholar-in-Residence weekend program to fun family events at Hanukah and Purim, as well as summer picnics and winter get togethers, JFGR seeks to offer opportunities for community members to engage in secular Jewish life.
JFGR also provides annual series of programs through our Jewish Cultural Council and Jewish Film Festival - see details under 'Programs & Services'. In addition, JFGR coordinates programs and activities for younger Jews involved in the Young Adult Division. Please contact info@jfgr.org or (616) 942-5553 for more information. You may also look for Upcoming Events on this website's homepage as well as look at the Federation's Community Calendar.
JEWISH FEDERATION MISSIONS are travel experiences unlike any other. Join us as we explore the past, present and future of the Jewish people in locations as diverse as Israel, Poland, Latin America and the former Soviet Union.
What makes each mission truly unique is its sense of purpose, guaranteeing our travelers a heightened appreciation and connection to their Jewish identity.
Our missions aren't passive experiences. They're active adventures, engaging the mind, heart, soul, and body. We'll explore local communities and their histories while traveling by jeep, boat, plane, and foot to make up-close and personal contact with the many marvels of Jewish existence. You'll witness firsthand the extraordinary efforts of organizations like the Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency for Israel while discovering and responding to the challenges facing Jewish communities today.
